Emma Navarro has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2021 NCAA Women’s Tennis Singles Championship with a victory on Tuesday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Navarro, the No. 3 seed in the 64-player championship, picked up a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory against Meg Kowalski of Georgia in Tuesday’s Round of 16 to be the first player in the field to advance to Wednesday’s final eight.

Navarro will take on Paris Corley of LSU on Wednesday, playing for a spot in the semifinals. Corley is ranked No. 60 in the latest ITA singles rankings.

This is the fourth time in program history that a Cavalier has advanced to the quarterfinals. Danielle Collins did so three times, once in 2015 in addition to her championship runs in 2014 and 2016.
