Virginia goalkeeper Colin Shutler was named the Atlantic Coast Conference co-Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday. Shutler takes home the weekly honor for the fifth time in his career.

In Virginia’s 2-1 double overtime win over Louisville on Friday, Shutler matched a career-high with eight saves, the most by any ACC goalkeeper this season. Four of his eight saves came in the second overtime session, helping UVA setup the game-winning score in the 109th minute.

Shutler (Middleburg, Va.) owns the lowest career goals against average (0.60) and the highest career save percentage (.820) among active NCAA DI goalkeepers. His 23 career shutouts are the second-most among his active NCAA cohorts and currently tied for the fourth most in UVA history.

Virginia will hit the road for the first time this Fall when it travels to Virginia Tech on Wednesday. The match is slated for an 8 p.m. start and will air live on ACC Network.
