Four-star quarterback prospect Dante Reno will announce his commitment this Saturday, and although Virginia made his final list of six schools, he is believed to be a heavy lean to South Carolina.

Reno, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound, pro-style quarterback from The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Conn., holds 20 offers, but trimmed his list to South Carolina, UVA, Kentucky, Wake Forest, NC State and Purdue recently.

Although he is a member of the recruiting class of 2024, Reno said he wants to get the process over with and thus will make his announcement on Saturday at 7 p.m. on CBSSports HQ.

He is ranked the No. 18 quarterback in the country by 247Sports, who rates him a 4-star. Rivals has his ranked No. 15, while On3 rated him a 3-star and No. 29 in the nation.

His father, Tony, is head football coach at Yale.

As a sophomore last season, Dante Reno passed for 2,507 yards and 27 touchdowns, completing 66 percent of his passes.

“It was finding the balance between football, being developed, and also being able to live my life outside of football drove me to my decision,” Reno was quoted by “Saturdays Down South.”
