4-Star tackle Fisher Anderson chooses Stanford over Virginia
By Jerry Ratcliffe
Virginia football recruiting suffered a blow on Sunday when 4-Star offensive lineman Fisher Anderson announced he hd committed to Stanford.
Anderson is a 6-foot-7, 275-pound offensive tackle from Franklin, Tenn., who had narrowed his college choices to Virginia, North Carolina, Stanford and Northwestern. He had previously eliminated programs such as Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Oregon, Baylor, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Penn State and others.
He was rated the sixth-best player in the state of Tennessee and the No. 23 offensive tackle in the nation by 247Sports composite.
“Stanford fits me because it was the most unique school I visited” Anderson said about his decision. “It does not fit in with the world. Stanford is full of world changers and that’s why I feel at home.”
