Three players named Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-Americans

Three Virginia women’s lacrosse players were named Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-Americans.

Sophomore Aubrey Williams earned second team honors, while freshman Rachel Clark and senior Ashlyn McGovern received honorable mention honors.

Williams has served as the primary draw control specialist for the Cavaliers during the 2022 season. She currently ranks second in the ACC and seventh in the NCAA with 8.33 draw controls per game. With 100 draw controls on the season, Williams has set the UVA single-season record, breaking the previous record of 97. The Purcellville, Va., native has tallied double-digit draw controls in four games, including three of the last five. She had a career-high and single-game record of 15 in UVA’s win over Stanford.

Clark ranks third in the ACC and sixth nationally with 42 goals and is sixth in the ACC and 14th overall with 50 points. The Devon, Pa., native has scored a goal in all but one game this season and has multiple goals in 10 of 12 contests, with nine hat tricks. Clark scored a career-high six goals in her collegiate debut at Elon. She had a career-best eight points, with four goals and four assists in the win over Stanford.

McGovern ranks sixth in the ACC and 11th in the NCAA with 39 goals on the season. The Phoenix, Md., native has scored in all 12 of UVA’s games this season and has a goal-streak of 21 games dating back to the 2021 season. McGovern has multiple goals in 11 games with hat tricks in eight of those. She scored a career-high seven goals to lead UVA in its win over Pitt.
