Virginia basketball has made an offer to 6-foot-10 center Patrick Ngongba II of Paul VI in Fairfax.
Ngongba is a rising star in the recruiting class of 2024 and is stacking up new offers quickly. Rated the No. 15 center in the nation by 247Sports, he announced his newest offer from Tony Bennett’s Cavaliers on his Twitter account on Thursday afternoon.
The big man has already taken an official visit to Kansas State, but also holds offers from UVA, Maryland, Georgetown, Butler, Pitt, Iowa, Ole Miss and Wichita State, among others.
Ngongba’s mom, Tajama Abraham Ngongba, was drafted by the WNBA in 1997 and is presently an assistant coach at George Mason, which has also offered her son. His father, Patrick Ngongba, played at George Washington, which has also offered.
“I bring the ability to rebound to my team and have a high IQ,” Ngongba told On3.com. “I’d say I have developed my feel on the block and worked on when to attack and when to pass. I watch guys like Joel Embiid and Tim Duncan and try to take pieces of their game.”
