Vegas point guard Richardson lists Virginia in his final eight schools
By Jerry Ratcliffe
Although Virginia has not made an offer, 4-star point guard Jase Richardson of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman has included the Cavaliers among his list of eight schools he is considering.
Richardson, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound junior and the son of former longtime NBA player Jason Richardson, announced Tuesday that his final eight schools are: Alabama, Arkansas, Virginia, USC, Michigan State (where his father played), Stanford, Cincinnati and San Diego State.
On Monday, UVA offered 4-star point guard Christian Bliss of Newtown, Pa. (see related story on this website), who was the third point guard from the recruiting class of 2024 to get an offer from the Cavaliers, along with Daniel Freitag (Minneapolis) and Travis Perry (Eddyville, Ky.). Richardson, who has taken an official visit to Michigan State and unofficial visits to Stanford and Arkansas, is also a member of the class of 2024.
On3.com ranks Richardson as the No. 49 overall prospect in that class and the country’s No. 9 point guard, as well as being the No. 2 prospect in the state of Nevada.
It isn’t known at this time if Virginia has an interest in Richardson.
