Virginia in the mix for Paul VI 4-star forward Abraham

Virginia is in the mix for another one of the top wing players in the country in 6-foot-7 Isaiah Abraham, who plays for Paul VI Catholic in Alexandria.

Paul VI has continued to churn out solid players, so it would be good if UVA could attract one of its players into the Cavaliers’ fold. Abraham would be a good start. He’s a 4-star, rated the No. 26 overall player in the nation (recruiting class of 2024) by On3.com and the No. 15 power forward in the country by 247Sports, which also rates him the No. 3 overall prospect in the state of Virginia.

While Abraham mostly plays the four position, he has branched out this spring while being a solid scorer for Team Takeover on the Nike EYBL Circuit, the No. 2 team in that league.

Abraham told Jamie Shaw of On3 that he has developed his perimeter game while playing with Team Takeover and may be moving more toward playing the three position on the floor after improving his ability to come off screens and make shots.

He’s being recruited heavily by UVA, UConn, Marquette, Providence and Virginia Tech. He said both UVA and Tech are trying hard to get him to visit.

“I really like the way Coach (Tony) Bennett and (Jason) Williford run their program,” Abraham told Shaw. “They know how to get everyone playing together and winning. They win. Even though it didn’t go the way they wanted it to in March Madness, they still got there. I’m excited to see how they’re going to do this season.”
