Virginia crosses the state line to offer Durham forward Keith
By Jerry Ratcliffe
Tony Bennett has enjoyed recruiting success across the border in the Tar Heel state in the past, and is looking southward again in offering small forward Jackson Keith of Durham, N.C.
Keith, a 6-foot-5 (and still growing), 4-star from Southern High School, announced late Friday that he had been offered by Virginia. He is the eighth prospect from the recruiting class of 2025 offered by the Cavaliers (see related articles on each of these players on this site and check out a list of all UVA offers on chart below).
The Durham standout has a total of 16 offers, including Virginia, Florida State, Wake Forest, NC State, Georgetown, Illinois, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Charleston, ODU, ECU, SMU and others.
As a sophomore at Southern, Keith averaged 20.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocked shots per game (27 games).
Keith is rated the No. 67 overall recruit in his ‘25 class by 247Sports, No. 40 by Rivals, No. 81 by On3 and No. 83 by ESPN. All the services rank him in the top five prospects in the state of North Carolina, No. 2 by 247, which also rates him the No. 14 small forward in the nation.
Keith is a player who is able to get to his spots and score. He said he is shopping for a program that features a family culture and can improve his game.
