The ACC might not be expanding to California, but Virginia football sure is with the addition of tight end Trevor Ladd of Encinites, Ca.

Ladd announced on his Twitter account Friday that he had committed to the Cavaliers, giving Tony Elliott’s recruiting class of 2024 a total of 16 commitments.

Ladd is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound tight end/wide receiver from La Costa Canyon High School. He is ranked the No. 105 tight end in the country by 247Sports and the No. 232 overall prospect in the Golden State. The 3-star has a 78-inch wingspan and can go up and get the ball, helped by his basketball skills.

During his junior season, Ladd hauled in 35 receptions for 605 yards and 8 touchdowns. He was named all-league as a result. He has been named to the All-San Diego preseason section team.

Ladd had offers from Air Force, San Jose State, Nevada, Montana State, Idaho, Columbia and Penn.
