Virginia football has picked up a commitment from South Carolina linebacker Myles Brown out of Columbia’s Ridge View High School.

Brown announced his commitment to the Cavaliers on his Twitter account on Wednesday, choosing UVA over Army, Charlotte, Miami of Ohio and South Carolina State. Virginia was his lone Power 5 offer.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound linebacker, recruited chiefly by John Rudzinski and Clint Sintim, has not been rated by the national recruiting services.

As a junior, Brown posted 66 total tackles, 6 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 8 passes broken up, a fumble recovery for a touchdown and a blocked punt. In his most recent game, a 38-6 Ridge View loss to Irmo, Brown had 8 total tackles (6 solo) and a forced fumble.

Brown was officially offered during his visit to Virginia last month when he watched the Cavaliers battle NC State. He is UVA’s 15th commitment for the recruiting class of 2024.
