While Virginia waits on a decision by McDonald’s All-American point guard Trent Perry of Los Angeles, the Cavaliers are hosting another former Burger Boy in Florida State point guard Jalen Warley.

The 6-foot-7 Warley, who appeared in 96 career games over three seasons for the Seminoles, has one year of eligibility remaining. He is currently visiting Virginia, which was on his list of seven schools before he chose FSU in 2020.

Warley, a Philadelphia native, was a 4-star prospect coming out of high school, and the No. 3 rated combo guard in the country. A big guard with size, a solid basketball IQ and a feel for the game on both ends of the floor, he entered the portal on April 20.

A McDonald’s All-American, Warley was one of the highest-ranked recruits in FSU hoops history. He has started the past two seasons for Leonard Hamilton’s Seminoles, and in 2023-24, he started 32 out of 33 games, averaged 24 minutes of playing time, scored 7.5 points per game, 2.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals. He owned a 2.6-to-1 assist-to-turnove ratio. He’s not a 3-point shooter, making only 14 percent of the few shots he attempted from the arc.
