Virginia nabs commitment from another Florida quarterback

Virginia returned to Florida for another future quarterback, gaining a commitment from Bjorn Jorgensen of Orlando. Jorgensen announced his decision on his Twitter account.

UVA picked up little-recruited Anthony Colandrea out of St. Petersburg a couple of years ago, and Colandrea demolished the Cavaliers’ single-season passing record for a freshman last season.

Jorgensen, 6-foot-2, is a 3-star prospect, ranked the No. 60 QB in the country by 247Sports and No. 63 by On3. He is the second quarterback commit to UVA’s 2025 class, joining Cole Geer of Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts.

Virginia was the only Power 4 offer for Jorgensen, who chose the Cavaliers over offers from JMU, Liberty, East Carolina, ODU, Appalachian State, Florida Atlantic, Western Kentucky, Georgia State, Temple and Bowling Green.

At Bishop Moore Catholic, he passed for 2,466 yards and 29 touchdowns as a junior, with only 8 interceptions. He completed 67 percent of his passes (186-277). He also rushed for 632 yards and 12 scores, averaging 7.7 yards per carry.

Jorgensen visited UVA on April 28 with his father and only a couple of days later, Cavaliers quarterback coach Taylor Lamb flew to Orlando to watch the prospect throw.

Described as a player who has a quick release, Jorgensen also has the ability to move the chains, scrambling for yardage.

He is Virginia’s 12th commitment for 2025.
