Virginia basketball has made the cut for another 2025 point guard, JJ Mandaquit out of Honolulu, who announced his final nine schools via social media on Monday.

Mandaquit, who transferred to Utah Prep in Hurricane, Utah, last season, stated that these are his list of possible destinations: UVA, Tennessee, Louisville, Cal, BYU, Hawaii, USC, Washington and Creighton.

In addition, the talented floor general announced seven scheduled official visits, with Charlottesville being one of his destinations. Mandaquit will see the Cavaliers’ program in person over the weekend of Sept. 28.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound guard is considered one of the top prospects in his recruiting class, ranked No. 51 overall by 247Sports, the No. 6 point guard in the nation and the No. 3 overall player in the state of Utah for 2025.

Virginia offered Mandaquit in mid-July.

As a sophomore last season, the 4-star point guard averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 assists and 2.9 steals for Utah Prep over 22 games.

He also helped USA Basketball’s U17 squad win gold at the FIBA U17 World Cup, averaging 6.6 points, 6.1 assists and 2.1 steals over six games.
