Three years ago, Virginia coach Bowen Sargent couldn’t help but notice a guy who kept showing up at Birdwood Golf Club every day, rode his scooter to the course, arrived before Sargent’s team, worked the whole time he was there and was still working when all the Cavaliers finished practice.
“I kept seeing this guy every day and it got to be kind of a joke within our team for a little while … I kept telling them, ‘Hey, I don’t know who this guy is, but he works harder than you guys,’” Sargent remembered.
