From Staff Reports

Legendary Virginia receiver Herman Moore will be the special guest on “The Jerry Ratcliffe Virginia Football Show,” on Wednesday night, 7 p.m., LIVE on our three platforms (Twitter/X, Facebook and YouTube).
Viewers are invited to send in comments or questions to Moore during the show. For those who can’t tune in live, a podcasted version will be available on Jerry Ratcliffe’s Twitter/X account: @JerryRatcliffe.
Moore, from Danville’s George Washington High School, was a consensus First Team All-American under George Welsh at Virginia in 1990 and finished sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting as he and teammate/quarterback Shawn Moore split up lots of Heisman votes, both finishing in the top 10.
Moore helped the Cavaliers reach the No. 1 national ranking during that season and a spot in the Sugar Bowl against Tennessee.
Moore, who went on to star for the Detroit Lions, will be at Saturday night’s Virginia game against Syracuse to be honored for being elected into this year’s class of the NFF College Football Hall of Fame. He will be recognized and will accept the Hall of Fame plaque during one of the on-field ceremonies during the game.
