Rebroadcast of 2017 UVA-Boise State game will feature commentary from former ‘Hoos

The Virginia athletics department will stream an abbreviated edition of the Cavalier football team’s 2017 victory at Boise State on Wednesday, April 15 at 7 p.m. ET. Fans will be able to watch a condensed (one hour and 20 minute) version of the game and listen to live commentary from former UVA standouts Kurt Benkert (quarterback), Andre Levrone (wide receiver), Micah Kiser (linebacker) and Quin Blanding (defensive back).
Former UVA wide receiver Ahmad Hawkins will be serve as the in-game host for the event.
To participate, fans will need to stream the game on either Twitter (@VirginiaSports) or Facebook (Virginia Cavaliers) and open another browser window or the Instagram app to UVA’s Instagram account (VirginiaSports) to hear the player’s commentary.
The 2017 season was the second under current UVA head coach Bronco Mendenhall and featured the team’s first bowl appearance since 2011. The Cavaliers 42-23 win at Boise State boosted the team’s record to 3-1 and was the team’s first non-conference road win since the 2011 season. The Cavaliers became the first non-conference team to win a regular-season game at Boise State in 17 years, snapping a 32-game win streak by the Broncos.
During the game, Benkert completed 19 of 29 passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns while Levrone had five receptions for 141 yards and two scores. Blanding led the UVA defense with 10 tackles while Kiser finished the game with nine stops.
Benkert is currently a member of the Atlanta Falcons while Blanding plays for the Carolina Panthers and Kiser is on the roster for the Los Angeles Rams.
