Batten, Yates win City 4-Ball Championship at Meadowcreek
Austin Batten and Logan Yates teamed up for a strong finish in Sunday’s final round of the City 4-Ball Championship at Meadowcreek Golf Course.
Batten and Yates, who were locked into a tie for the lead after Saturday’s round in the event’s Open division, broke loose for a combined score of 61 on Sunday and won the tournament by two strokes with a 63-61–124. Brant Dixon and Daniel Haugh, who were tied with Batten and Yates after Saturday’s play, finished second in the event, which featured two-man teams. Dixon and Haugh posted a 63-63–126.
Steve Demasters and Scott Garrison captured the Senior division with a 62-63–125 to edge Lance Hoover and Scott Richards by a stroke (62-64–126).
Meanwhile, Terry Dean and Randy Leyshon won the Super Senior division with a 62-67–129, beating out Steve Cox and Greg Crum 65-67–132.
It was the first time since 2019 that the City 4-Ball had been played.
