Natasha Subhash, Sofia Munera, Emma Navarro and Rosie Johanson have all advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2021 NCAA Women’s Tennis Doubles Championship with victories on Tuesday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Subhash and Munera toppled 5-8 seed Marlee Zein and McCartney Kessler of Florida 6-2, 6-4. Navarro and Johanson won 6-4, 6-2 against Carmen and Ivana Corley of Oklahoma.

This is the first time in program history that a UVA doubles team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the championship.

All four players earn ITA All-America status in doubles for making the quarterfinals. This is the first All-America honor for Johanson and Munera. This is Navarro’s second as she has also earned All-America status in singles this year. This is the third All-America honor for Subhash who is a two-time All-American in singles (2020-21). There have been two other doubles All-Americans in program history: Julia Elbaba and Rachel Pierson in 2014.

Munera and Subhash will take on the 4-seed Makenna Jones and Elizabeth Scotty North Carolina on Wednesday in the quarterfinals. Navarro and Johanson will face Jayci Goldsmith and Tatiana Makarova of Texas A&M. Both matches begin at 6 p.m.
