Douglass captures another gold at World Championships in Melbourne

Senior Kate Douglass won her second individual gold medal at the 2022 FINA World Short Course Championships on Friday with her win in the 200-meter breaststroke.

Douglass swam a Championship record in route to her gold medal with a time of 2:15.77. She led a one-two finish for Team USA, with Lilly King finishing second in 2:17.13.

It was the third-consecutive title for the U.S. in the SCM 200 breaststroke and Douglass swam a personal-best time to become the seventh-fastest performer in history and third fastest in American history.

Douglass leads all of Team USA with five medals and has a team-high four gold medals. Junior Alex Walsh is tied for second with four medals total so far at the World Championships.
