Four members of the Virginia men’s golf team have been named to the 2021 Men’s Golf All-ACC Academic Team.

That group includes sophomore Pietro Bovari (Milano, Italy), freshman George Duangmanee (Fairfax, Va.), freshman Chris Fosdick (Middlefield, Conn.) and senior Andrew Orischak (Hilton Head Island, S.C.)

Orischak is a repeat selection from the last time the All-ACC Academic team was announced in 2019. The other three UVA players are first-time selections. No team was selected in 2020 due to the pandemic and cancellation of the sport’s spring season.

Bovari led UVA in stroke average this season (72.43) and was the team’s top finisher in three tournaments, including the NCAA Kingston Spring Regional where he placed eighth. Duangmanee played in all eight tournaments and was second on the squad with a 72.92 stroke average. He also led the team in scoring three times during the season, topped by a fourth-place finish at the Timuquana Collegiate event.

Fosdick played in four events in his first season at UVA after transferring from Florida Southern. He posted a 73.33 stroke average. Orischak had a 73.38 stroke average during his senior campaign and picked up his eighth career top-10 finish during the season.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
