Now that we’ve gone through a month of a subscriber-based site, and we’ve also gone through the first football game, I’ve got an offer for those of you who are monthly subscribers.

This morning I traded emails with a monthly subscriber. She wasn’t a big fan of PayPal and it was time for the monthly subscription to autorenew. Rather than deal with that hassle, I suggested this: Convert to an annual subscription and I’ll credit the $7.99 you’ve already paid against it. You’ll end up paying about $6 a month, you can send me a check for it, and life will just be a lot easier.

She said yes, and we’re both happy with the arrangement.

I get why with a new site people will start as monthly subscribers. The site might not be any good, it may not last a whole year, etc., etc. And while about 75 percent of our subscribers are annual customers, I get it.

But if after you’ve been through a month and you see all the stories, all the features and all the pictures and think “I probably should have subscribed for a year,” there’s no penalty. Just email me by clicking , I’ll make the changes in the system, and you mail us a check. We’ve done this now about 20 times, we set people up immediately and the check arrives anywhere from 2 to 5 days. We’ve trusted everyone and no one has abused it. Don’t feel like you have to get up early the next day and chase down the mailman. Do it when it’s convenient for you.

So if you’d now like to convert to an annual subscription and effectively end up paying $6 a month instead of $7.99, email me. We will always be a company who is easy to do business with. We will work something out.
