Kam Robinson returns to practice, moving gingerly

Middle linebacker Kam Robinson returned to practice on Tuesday, but was limited in what he could do after leaving last Saturday night’s game with what Tony Elliott described as a knee sprain.
“We believe we got positive returns on all the scans and everything, so now it’s just more of getting to a point of being able to deal with the pain-tolerance standpoint,” Elliott said of the sophomore ‘backer from Tappahannock. “He’s out there moving around, pretty involved in pretty much everything today, but still a little limited.”
Robinson was replaced in the game by junior Trey McDonald, who had nine tackles and a crucial, fourth-quarter sack against Wake Forest.
Elliott also said that “spur” position Corey Thomas was a full participant Tuesday and that offensive left tackle McKale Boley, who has missed the first two games of the season with an ankle injury, is day-to-day for Saturday night’s home game against Maryland (8 p.m., ACC Network).
“[Boley] is moving around, so we’re hopeful that we’ll get him back here pretty soon,” the coach said.
Senior Jack Witmer has started the past two games in place of Boley.
