Kyle Guy signs one-year deal with Spanish team
By Jerry Ratcliffe
Kyle Guy has found a new home for his basketball talent. The former UVA star guard has signed a year-long contract with Club Joventut Badalona in Spain through June of 2023.
Guy, the Most Outstanding Player in the Final Four during Virginia’s drive to the 2019 national championship, played last season with the NBA’s Miami Heat and spent time in the G League.
Club Joventut hailed Guy as a “difference maker” and “a highly accurate sniper.”
Badalona finished 22-12 in the Liga Endesa standings (fourth place) and sixth in the EuroCup standings. Play begins in October.
“The American is capable of shooting both over the top and off indirect blocks and is a specialist from long distance,” Club Joventut’s release said.
Guy is expected to start. He played 53 games with the Heat and Sacramento Kings the past three years.
