Men’s Squash: No. 13 Virginia Falls to No. 6 Pennsylvania

The No. 13 Virginia men’s squash team (2-3) fell 9-0 on Sunday (Nov. 18) to No. 6 Pennsylvania (4-0) at Drexel’s Kline & Specter Squash Center.

Despite the loss, Virginia battled to extra games in four matches with sophomore William Braff (Locust Valley, N.Y.) leading the team with a 12-10, 11-8, 8-11, 8-11, 14-12 fifth-set loss to Michael Mehl in position four.

Junior Toby Hansford (Darien, Conn.) forced a fourth game against David Yacobucci in position two, falling 11-5, 9-11, 11-5, 14-12 in the match, while senior Jarett Odrich (Greenwich, Conn.) fell 11-7, 11-6, 9-11, 11-3 to James Flynn in position six. Sophomore Andrew Braff (Locust Valley, N.Y.) battled to a 9-11, 11-7, 13-11, 11-7 loss in position eight against Wil Hagen.

The Cavaliers will return to action on Nov. 30, traveling to Bronx, N.Y., to face Fordham.
