Meyer earns ACC Women’s Track Performer of the Week honor

Virginia distance runner Michaela Meyer (Southbury, Conn.) is this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Track Performer of the Week.

In her first outdoor meet at Virginia, the Delaware graduate transfer earned the nation’s current No. 1 ranking in the 800 meters and No. 2 ranking in the 1500 meters while placing first in both events at the UVA Opener.

Her 800m time of 2:06.20 ranks No. 6 on UVA’s all-time performance list, while her 1500m time of 4:20.30 holds the No. 10 spot among the school records. Meyer is the only athlete who presently ranks among the nation’s top five in both of those events.

This weekend Meyer and the Cavaliers head to the NC State for the Raleigh Relays. The meet runs Thursday through Saturday.
