Having lost six of his top seven producers from his wide receivers corps, Adam Mims just might have the most challenging job of all Virginia position coaches. Mims isn’t sweating it, though, because he sees a lot of potential.
“Every year has its challenges and with us losing so much production outside and really introducing a brand new room, it’s going to come with challenges,” Mims said. “But the one thing I can say is, man, I’ve got a group this year that works really hard.”
There have been some surprises already in spring drills, such as UCLA transfer Rico Flores Jr., who had a good reputation, but has exceeded it. Then there’s UMass transfer Jacquon Gibson and sophomore returnee Josiah Abdulla from Columbus, Ga.
