If you could take a look at our catch-all email account – – on any given day, you’d probably be surprised by the number of questions we get. Add in the direct messages we get on Twitter and Facebook, and it would appear we could write a weekly column just answering those questions.

So we will.

Starting this week, we will run a regular feature called “Hootie’s Mailbag”, where Hootie will either answer all questions or give some insight into what the answer should be. Just about every publication these days does something similar to this, but because we’re behind a subscriber wall, we should be able to address the questions in a more frank and open manner.

So if you have a question, here’s the schedule we’d like to employ: Undoubtedly there are going to be a bigger number of questions in the immediate aftermath of a Saturday football game, so send us your questions Sunday, Monday or Tuesday of each week. Send them to and please put “Hootie’s Mailbag” in the subject line.

We will assemble them Wednesday morning and depending on how many questions we have, will post the feature Wednesday or Thursday. Everything’s fair game except for asking about the PIN number to Hootie’s bank account, so if you’re curious about anything, send in a question. We’ll answer all that we can, and if we don’t know the answer, we’ll pass on the email to someone who can answer it and report back.
