PROMOTIONS

  • The first 1,000 fans will receive a Virginia soccer scarf. Gates to Klöckner Stadium open at 6 p.m.
  • Friday’s match will serve as a Sabre Rewards night for students.

FOR STARTERS

  • Virginia is one of 10 unbeaten teams remaining in college soccer and one of two in the ACC (Clemson).
  • The Cavaliers have the second-lowest goals against average (0.20) in the country and are one of six teams nationally to concede just one goal this season.
  • Virginia is looking to start ACC play 2-0 for the first time since 2008 when it won its first four against NC State, Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Clemson.

STEEDMAN’S GAME-WINNERS

  • For the second time in three games, sophomore Daniel Steedman recorded a game-winner when his fifth minute goal against Radford stood in a 1-0 victory at Klöckner Stadium on Tuesday night. Just 10 days prior, his goal against High Point was good enough in a 1-0 decision.
  • The goal on Tuesday for Steedman was his second of the season and fourth of his career. He enters a three-way tie with Nathaniel Crofts and Irakoze Donasiyano for the team lead in goals scored in 2019.
  • Steedman’s tally just 4:05 into the match was also the earliest of the nine Virginia goals in 2019.
  • Along with Nathaniel Crofts, Steedman is tied for ninth in the nation with two game-winning goals.

CLEAN SHEETS

  • For the second time in as many seasons, Virginia has yielded only one goal in its first five games.
  • The four Cavalier shutouts in 2019 are the most in the ACC and their 0.20 goals against average is the lowest in the league and second-lowest in the country.
  • Goalkeeper Colin Shutler has recorded 12 shutouts in 21 career starts in goal for the Cavaliers. One more clean sheet will tie him for 9th on Virginia’s all-time career shutouts list.
