Virginia added its second commitment of the day Monday when Keandre Walker, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound defensive back from East Lincoln, N.C., announced his decision on Twitter.

UVA offered Walker on Monday and he quickly accepted. He is the eighth commitment to the 2023 recruiting class. He is ranked the No. 121 prospect in the state of North Carolina by MaxPreps. Neither Rivals, 247Sports or On3 have Walker rated at this time.

He chose the Cavaliers over offers from Air Force, Army, Furman, JMU, Miami of Ohio, Kent State and Ohio U.

Remember that Tony Elliott’s staff includes several assistants from Air Force, Army and Navy.

In his junior year, Walker had five interceptions, eight passes defended and a forced fumble. Offensively, he hauled in 20 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 16.3 yards per catch.

Walker attended UVA’s football camp and coaches liked him as a boundary defender because of his size, speed and athleticism.
