Orange Bowl’s Schuchts talks Wahoo invite on this week’s Jerry Ratcliffe Show

Wayne Schuchts, a Virginia football alum and member the Orange Bowl Committee, discusses the Cavaliers’ invitation and recalls the days of being George Welsh’s first quarterback at UVA on this week’s edition of The Jerry Ratcliffe Show. Also, Dr. Winston Gwathmey from UVA Ortho breaks down hip injuries, while Hootie talks Wahoo football and basketball.

The show, which now also airs each weekend in both Richmond (streaming live Saturdays from 11-12 a.m. on WNTW, AM 820/FM 92.7) and the 757/Tidewater region (Sundays from 1-2 p.m. on Freedom 1110 WKQA), is celebrating its one-year anniversary in Charlottesville on ESPN Radio (9-10 a.m. every Saturday on WVAX 102.9 FM and 1450 AM).

The star-studded debut episode hit the airwaves on Dec. 15, 2018, with UVA legends Tiki Barber, Shawn Moore and Ralph Sampson as the show’s inaugural guests. Hootie’s been going strong ever since, with literally a “Who’s Who” of ‘Hoos chatting about all things UVA Athletics.

From Chris Long to Joe Harris, from Kyle Guy to Thomas Jones and just about all the Wahoo greats you can think of in between, Jerry’s guests have shared some of their favorite stories, and you can click here to dig through our archives and check out each and every episode for anything you may have missed over this incredible, unforgettable year of Virginia sports.

We’d like to thank all of our listeners and our wonderful sponsors: The Aberdeen Barn, Blue Ridge Bank and UVA Ortho, and we look forward to another year of Wahoo memories.
