Former Virginia point guard London Perrantes will be playing a little closer to his college home, as Tuesday he signed with the Capital City Go-Go, the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, also located in the D.C. area.

Perrantes, who most recently played this season in Istanbul for the Bahçeşehir Koleji Red Dragons of Turkey’s Basketbol Süper Ligi, has also played professionally overseas for Limoges CSP and Cholet Basket in France over the past two seasons.

After leaving Virginia following the 2016-17 season, Perrantes signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a two-way deal with the Canton Charge of the G League, and played in 14 NBA contests (0.5 ppg, 0.4 apg in 4.7 minutes) and 35 G League games (11.8 ppg, 7.8 apg in 36.5 minutes) in 2017-18.

At season’s end, he signed in France and played for a year, and then participated in NBA Summer League with the New Orleans Pelicans a few months back. Perrantes then went through Portland Trail Blazers training camp in the fall, but was cut in October before traveling to Turkey.

Perrantes played for Virginia from 2013-17, starting 132 of his 138 games (both UVA records) and scoring a total of 1,225 points as a Wahoo while dishing out 569 career assists (fourth on UVA’s all-time list). Perrantes also ranks fifth in program history with a career free-throw percentage of .812, and made 211 3-pointers as a Cavalier, seventh on the Virginia career list.

He led the team in assists all four seasons in Charlottesville, was named to the ACC’s All-Freshman team in 2014 and was a Second-Team all-conference selection as a senior in 2017.
