Virginia senior Jordan Scott was named the ACC Field Performer of the Week the league office announced on Wednesday. Scott recorded the top triple jump mark in the country with his 2020 indoor debut at the Doc Hale Elite Meet in Blacksburg.

The senior surpassed 54 feet three times during the series with his best jump reaching 16.64m (54’7.25”). He also recorded a fourth jump beyond 53 feet.

Scott (Portmore, Jamaica) leads the NCAA in the event by seven inches and is one of just two athletes to record a jump over 54 feet this season. During his series at the Doc Hale Elite Meet, he captured four of this year’s top-six triple jump marks in the NCAA. Internationally, Scott is tied at 12th for the best jump by an athlete for the 2019-20 season in addition to ranking 15th in the world for all jumps during this year’s indoor campaign.

The Cavaliers will return to action on Friday as members of the team compete at the Tiger Paw Invite at Clemson and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston.
