A pair of unearned runs proved to be the difference on Friday as Virginia dropped game three of the weekend series to Boston College by a score of 3-1 at Palmer Park.

Mackenzie Wooten (1-2) took the loss in relief, allowing three runs on three hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Only one of the three runs allowed by Wooten (Windsor, Va.) was earned in her 2.2 innings of work.

Susannah Anderson (4-9) picked up the win, working her second complete game of the series. She allowed the one run on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Virginia (10-18, 6-14 ACC) took the lead by scoring first for the third consecutive game with a solo home run from Ashley Jennings (Forest, Va.) in the second inning. The Cavaliers then surrendered three unanswered runs as Boston College (6-17, 2-10 ACC)rallied to grab the win.

BC pushed a run home with a two-out single in the fifth inning to tie the game before taking the lead in the next inning. An error at first following a dropped third strike with two outs extended the inning for the Eagles who would then go on to load the bases before getting the two-RBI hit to take the lead.
