The state of Virginia’s No. 1 recruit, Warrenton’s Nate Ament, has scheduled an official visit to UVA on Sept. 14.

The 5-star forward has also scheduled an official visit to Kentucky on Aug. 28, and is expected to set up visits to UConn, Duke and North Carolina.

Ament, who is 6-foot-9, 185 pounds, is a highly-skilled athlete who can play the power forward spot, can be a stretch-4 or a small forward role due to his shooting ability, and is considered one of the best prospects in the nation in the recruiting class of 2025. He can pull bigger defenders away from the basket because of his precision perimeter shooting.

He would be the highest-rated player to come to Virginia since the national ratings were established. He is the No. 7 overall prospect in the country for his class.

Ament recently stood out in the Under Armour Elite 24 scrimmage (see highlight video below) at the Brooklyn Nets training facility, with NBA scouts on hand. He displayed his shooting skills from deep, ball-handling skills and delivered several wow moments, according to scouts who attended.
