Syracuse is expected to start its third team quarterback, Malachi Nelson, in Saturday night’s game at Virginia (7:30 p.m., ACC Network).

Amari Odom, who set a Syracuse record by throwing five touchdown passes in the Orange’s 42-41 overtime win over UConn last week, has been bothered by soreness in his throwing shoulder all week.
