Last week’s guests once again led the way, as Frank Quayle and Bill Millsaps tied for the best records of anyone on the panel.
Both Quayle and Millsaps went 9-6, while a third member – Dave – also came in at 9-6. Both members of the Ratcliffe family – Scott and Jerry – were one game behind at 8-7. These records allowed Dave to move back into a tie for first with Scott, as those two have been neck and neck all season at the front of the pack. Hootie is five games back in third.
This week’s guests include Tony Barnhardt, who is currently a writer and broadcaster for the SEC Network, but is also known as “Mr. College Football” for his decades of work writing for major newspapers, and appearing on radio and television; and Rick Mast, a former NASCAR driver who had 36 top-10 finishes driving at the circuit’s highest level, which was then known as The Winston Cup. He also has some Hollywood in him, as if you ever saw the movie “Days Of Thunder”, Rick was the stunt double driving Rowdy Burns’ car at Daytona.
Scott, Jerry and Rick think Virginia goes down to Durham and brings back a win. Dave and Tony – who both spent several years living in North Carolina many years ago – like the Blue Devils at home. Among the other games, the most notable is Rick’s pick of Iowa over Maryland, as he noted on his sheet that the Hawkeyes would win because “corn is healthier than crabs.”
Alrighty then. Here are this week’s picks:
