UVA’s V4 named ACC Crew of the Week

Highlighted by winning both of its races by more than five seconds, Virginia’s Varsity Four has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week.
Competing at the UVA Invite, the Virginia Varsity Four opened the weekend with a time of 7:54.60 to defeat No. 11 Duke’s Varsity Four (8:03.90) Friday evening on the Rivanna Reservoir.
On Saturday morning, Virginia raced past No. 9 Tennessee, clocking a time of 7:36.20 to best the Volunteers’ mark of 7:44.70.
As a team, the Cavaliers won four of the five races against Duke on Friday and three of four races vs Tennessee on Saturday.
Virginia is ranked third in the most recent Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll.
The Cavaliers return to action against No. 6 Ohio State and No. 7 Michigan on Saturday, April 3 in Columbus, Ohio.
