Virginia basketball offers Class of 2023 Kentucky legacy

Virginia has entered the competition for the No. 2-rated player in Kentucky high school basketball.

Tony Bennett was in Indianapolis this week to watch Reed Sheppard, a 6-foot-3 combo guard from London, Ky. Bennett offered Sheppard on Wednesday night.

While Sheppard is the son of two Kentucky stars, that hasn’t scared Bennett off from going after the Blue Grass state star. Sheppard’s dad is Jeff Sheppard, a two-time national champion for the Wildcats, while his om, Stacey, finished her UK career as one of the top 10 scorers in program history.

Sheppard and his family visited Charlottesville in June and Bennett made an offer during the evaluation period for the Class of 2023 guard. Sheppard also holds offers from Ohio State, Clemson and UMass.
