Virginia bolstered its defensive line on Monday when the Cavaliers gained a commitment from former Alabama lineman Hunter Osborne.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound native of Trussville, Ala., is a former 4-star prospect out of Hewitt-Trussville High School and has three years of eligibility remaining.

Osborne visited UVA last Friday, then took a short trip to Vanderbilt before committing to the Cavaliers on Monday.

The big lineman was rated the No. 18 defensive lineman in the country by On3 coming out of high school, and the No. 14 overall prospect in the state of Alabama.

Osborne redshirted his first season at ‘Bama in 2023 and appeared in only three games in 2024 for the Crimson Tide, posting three tackles and breaking up a pass.
