Virginia’s football program is always looking toward the future and the Cavaliers threw their feathered hat into the ring for one of the rising star quarterback prospects on the East Coast.

Tony Elliott’s staff has extended an offer to left-handed, four-star quarterback James “Boo Boo” Armstrong from Hopewell High in Aliquippa, Pa., a 16-year-old in the recruiting class of 2028.

By Jerry Ratcliffe Virginia coach Tony Elliott and several members of his staff have received salary increases accompanying contract extensions. The school previously announced Elliott’s contract had been extended through the 2030 season. After directing the Cavaliers to a program-record, 11-win season in 2025, an extension along with a raise were warranted.
