In hopes of shoring up its quarterback position, Virginia has offered Monmouth three-year starter Tony Muskett, a first-team All-CAA player in 2021.

Muskett, who starred at West Springfield High School in Northern Virginia, has passed for 5,687 yards and 52 touchdowns during his career with the Hawks. He is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound junior with two years of eligibility remaining.

Entering the transfer portal three days ago, Muskett already has offers from Virginia, Missouri, Coastal Carolina, Arkansas State, Georgia Southern, Miami (Ohio), Bowling Green, Ball State and Troy. He has said he wants to test himself at the FBS level after leading one of the nation’s top 10 offenses in FCS play.

He completed 462 of 718 passes during his career with the Hawks, missing the last three games of this season due to a knee injury sustained in a seven-overtime loss to Rhode Island.

Virginia starting quarterback Brennan Armstrong announced Thursday that he planned to enter the transfer portal for his final year of college football. He passed for more than 9,000 yards in his career and holds most of UVA’s passing and total offense records.
