Virginia qualifies 10 for NCAA Men’s Swimming Championships

Virginia swimming divingThe Virginia men’s swimming team qualified 10 swimmers for the 2021 NCAA Men’s Championship held March 24-27 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Senior Keefer Barnum (Louisville, Ky.), freshman Matt Brownstead (Port Matilda, Pa.), freshman William Cole (Prospect, Ky.), sophomore Sean Conway (Round Hill, Va.), sophomore Max Edwards (Winston-Salem, N.C.), junior Justin Grender (Cincinnati, Ohio), freshman Noah Nichols (Midlothian, Va.), senior Matt Otto (Newark, Del.), junior Casey Storch (Great Falls, Va.) and sophomore Jack Walker (Charlotte, N.C.) will represent Virginia at the NCAA Championships.

Jack Wright (Wexford, Pa.) and Sam Schilling (Excelsior, Minn.) were both named as alternates for the Cavaliers. UVA also qualified in all six relays.

Virginia will look to build off a 10th-place finish at the national meet in 2019. The team finish was the best for the Cavaliers since the program placed eighth in 2011.
