Women’s Golf: Sambach named PING WGCA Player of the Year Award finalist

Virginia sophomore Amanda Sambach is one of seven players named to the final watch list for the 2022-23 Division I PING Women’s Golf Coaches Association Player of the Year honor.
Sambach had previously been named as one of 10 finalists for the 2023 ANNIKA Award which presented by annually to the top female Division 1 collegiate golfer.
Sambach (Pinehurst, N.C.) currently leads UVA with a 71.08 scoring average. She opened the season by winning the ANNIKA Intercollegiate and also won the ACC Individual Championship and shared medalist honors at the NCAA Westfield Regional. At the ACC Championships, she set the league and school record with a final score of 14-under 202.
Sambach and the Cavaliers open play at the NCAA Championships on Friday at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
