The Virginia women’s lacrosse team released its 2019 schedule on Friday (Nov. 30) that will feature nine home games and 11 opponents that participated in the 2018 NCAA Championships.

Season tickets for women’s lacrosse are on sale now and may be purchased online at VirginiaSports.com, by phone at (800) 542-8821 or in-person at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office.

“We are excited for the upcoming season that will include a lot of great competition,” head coach Julie Myers said. “We will have 11 of our 17 regular season games against NCAA postseason teams. We welcome six of those teams to Charlottesville and are excited to play against all four of the Final Four teams over the course of the season. It will be a great test for us as we take on a tough ACC slate as usual and look to compete in the postseason.”

Virginia will open the season at home against Navy on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Klöckner Stadium. The Cavaliers will be on the road for five of their next seven games before closing out the second half of the season with six of its last eight games at home.

Along with Navy, UVA will host Princeton (Feb. 23), George Mason (March 6), Loyola (March 13), Notre Dame (March 16), Duke (March 23), Maryland (April 3), Louisville (April 13) and Virginia Tech (April 20).

The Cavaliers road slate features Elon (Feb. 16), Richmond (Feb. 20), William & Mary (Feb. 27), Syracuse (March 2), North Carolina (March 9), James Madison (March 20) and Penn State (April 7).

The 2019 ACC Championships will be hosted by Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass., April 24-28.

The broadcast selections for the Virginia women’s lacrosse team will be released and posted to VirginiaSports.com once they are determined by the Atlantic Coast Conference and its television partners. Starting times should be considered tentative and subject to change based on the broadcast selections.

Last season, Virginia defeated Stanford 12-3 in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Championships, before falling to eventual champions James Madison in the second round as one of the final 16 teams.
