Sophomore forward Maggie Cagle was named to the preseason All-ACC team as selected by the league’s coaches, it was announced with the release of the annual team by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Thursday.

Cagle was an All-ACC selection a year ago. She led the Cavaliers in assists with 12 and scored four goals. Her 12 assists included seven assists on game-winning goals and was tops among all NCAA DI freshmen last season. Cagle also hit a pair of game-winning goals against Oregon State and Wake Forest.

CAVALIERS PICKED TO FINISH THIRD IN PRESEASON POLL

Virginia is ranked fifth nationally in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll. The Cavaliers open the 2023 season at home against Nevada at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17. Tickets are on sale now at www.UVATix.com.
