4-Star combo guard George Washington III drops by C’Ville for a little visit
By Jerry Ratcliffe
George Washington and Thomas Jefferson once made a pretty strong team. Will history repeat?
George Washington III, a 4-star, 6-foot-2, combination guard from the Christian Academy of Louisville, could make that happen. Washington was in historic Charlottesville on Thursday to take an “unofficial” look at Jefferson’s University of Virginia basketball program.
Originally from Texas, Washington’s recruitment has picked up considerably since he moved to Louisville, Ky. He is ranked the composite No. 9 combo guard in the country and the No. 3 overall recruit in Kentucky (Class of 2023) by 247Sports.
While UVA had not offered Washington prior to his visit, the Cavaliers are clearly interested.
Offers have so far come from Louisville, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ohio State, Auburn and Liberty. He has unofficially visited Cincinnati, Tennessee, Louisville and UVA.
There is no timetable for a commitment at this time.
