Tony Bennett is the latest to jump on the recruiting bandwagon of John Marshall High School freshman center Latrell Allmond, a member of the recruiting class of 2026.

Allmond, who previously played at O’Neal High School in Southern Pines, N.C., is a versatile 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward who is athletic enough to play the three position and already owns an advanced basketball IQ. Allmond announced Monday that Virginia had offered him, making him the youngest player Bennett has offered during his 14 seasons at Virginia.

Now living in Richmond, Allmond has played for Team Loaded 2026, where he made a name for himself back in June when his team throttled Theodore Roosevelt, 75-50, in a game played in Washington, D.C. In that game, Allmond scored 19 points and grabbed 21 rebounds.

Immediately after the game, Allmond was offered by Rutgers, Georgetown, Texas A&M and Mississippi State, along with NC State, nearly two months before the start of his ninth-grade year.

“My life definitely changed in the last 24 hours,” Allmond told Wolfpack Central after that day in June. “I know I have to work harder.”

Allmond plays on Team Loaded with 6-11 center Kosi Mgbejiofor of Virginia Beach, and the two work together really well, running the high-low offense.

Allmond’s older brother, Tyrell, just finished up playing for Winston-Salem State.
