VIRGINIA NOTES
- This is the first of three-straight home games for the Cavaliers (14-10, 3-10 ACC)
- Virginia has lost its last six games and nine of its last 10
- The Cavaliers are coming off a 60-51 loss at Pitt on Sunday. The Cavaliers had season-lows in points (51), field goals (17) and shooting percentage (27.0 percent) against the Panthers
- The Cavaliers outrebounded Pitt 50-38 on Sunday. It was the seventh time this season UVA grabbed 50 or more rebounds in a game, and the first time this year doing so against an ACC opponent
- The Cavaliers ranked 13th in the nation in rebounds per game averaging 43.08 and is second in the ACC and 22nd in the nation in rebounding margin at plus-8.0
- Virginia had 23 offensive rebounds against Pitt, scoring 17 second-chance points
- The Cavaliers lead the ACC in O-boards per game at 15.0 (ranking 17th in the nation)
- Eight different Cavaliers have led the team in rebounding in the last 10 games
- The Cavaliers were 11 of 13 from the free-throw line (84.6 percent), their third straight game shooting better than 80.0 percent from the stripe and fifth time in the last seven games. In the last nine games, UVA is shooting 85.0 percent from the free-throw line (91 of 107). Prior to that stretch, the Cavaliers were shooting 66.9 percent (through the first 17 games of the season)
- London Clarkson grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds at Pitt in her first start of the season
- Clarkson had scored a career-high 23 points at North Carolina in the previous game, giving her back-to-back games in which she set career highs
- McKenna Dale has grabbed nine rebounds in each of the last two games. She is averaging 6.5 rebounds per game in her last six contests
- Taylor Valladay is fifth in the ACC in assists per game at 3.7
- Camryn Taylor has scored in double figures in each of the last seven games and nine of the last 10, including posting back-to-back 20-point performances against Syracuse and Virginia Tech
SCOUTING LOUISVILLE
- Louisville (17-8, 8-4) is coming off a 62-55 win against North Carolina on Sunday
- The Cards were voted as the preseason favorite to win the conference after advancing to the NCAA Final Four last season. The team started the season ranked No. 7 in the AP Poll, but fell out of the rankings in early December
- Hailey Van Lith leads the team in scoring, averaging 19.2 points per game, ranking third in the ACC
- Olivia Cochran leads the defensive efforts at 6.9 rebounds per game, ranking ninth in the ACC
- Chrislyn Carr is fourth in the nation in 3-point shooting percentage at 48.2 percent
- Louisville is 10-2 all-time against UVA and 11-1 in conference contests
- Virginia’s last win in the series was March 1, 2015, a 75-59 victory at John Paul Jones Arena
- This is the first meeting between the teams since Jan. 23, 2020
