Sophomore running back Xavier Brown will be out of action for the next four to six weeks with a dislocated elbow, according to UVA coach Tony Elliott.

“The good thing is it was nothing major from a bone standpoint,” Elliott said. “It’s really just recovery time. That’s the only injury [in training camp] that’s long-term.”

The coach said the only other injuries suffered thus far are “a couple of AC joint sprains, which are typically a week or so.”

Brown is a 5-foot-9, 195-pound tailback from Lexington, Ky. He was named UVA’s Offensive Rookie of the Year for 2022 after he played in all 10 games as a true freshman and finished with 210 yards (4.2 average per carry) and a touchdown.
